EIGHTIES GLAMOUR, TURNED ALL THE WAY UP: A spectacular pair of Kurt Wayne ear clips with an estimated 7 carats of white diamonds set on 18k yellow gold. Measuring 4.5cm long, they bring serious diamond power and physical presence to the face.
Created in the 1980s, these earrings capture the playful modernism for which Austrian-born, New York jeweller Kurt Wayne became known. Their generous proportions, powerful curves and combination of polished gold and diamonds belong to the decade of high-volume glamour as they do to the present time.
Each elongated, puffed-oval form is blanketed with round brilliant-cut diamonds, then crossed and framed by sweeping ribbons of polished yellow gold. The contrast is electric: intense fields of brilliance interrupted by fluid gold lines that appear to wrap themselves around the earrings. Substantial hinged omega clips with comfort pads make them suitable for non-pierced ears.
